So touchy and controversial gossip blogger Perez Hilton has toppled YouTube star LonelyGirl15 in the Web Celeb 25 list of 2007, published by Forbes. LonelyGirl15Â got the top honours in 2006 Web Celeb list. Like many other ‘celebs’ of 2006, she was also missing all-together from the list.
Topping the list is Perez Hilton, a controversial gossip blogger whose real name is Mario Lavandeira and gets into eyes of people and celebrities for his hot Celebrity blogging on Perez Hilton Blog.
What is Web Celeb? ‘Web Celeb’ is defined as  a person famous primarily for creating or appearing in Internet-based content, and for being highly recognizable to a Web-based audience… a pool of people whose fame depends on the Internet.
Each candidate was ranked in five areas: Web references as calculated by Google, traffic ranking of their home page by Alexa, Technorati rank of their primary Web site or blog and TV/radio mentions and press clips. Bonus points were given if they regularly published their own videoblog or podcast. All six categories were then totaled to produce a final score. Top 5 of 2007 List include:
