Yahoo and Wordpress? Well, Yahoo has launched a Wordpress plugin for bloggers to show relevant YAHOO! content in blog posts. Relevant keywords will be highlighted and box will pop up on mouse-over resulting into advertisement link to any of the Yahoo Service or content. This wordpress plugin finds Flickr photos, ticker symbols, products, yahoo maps etc in blog posts.

What is the logic? As blogger you do not get anything, it is not paid advertisement program. Yahoo wants its services advertised for FREE !!! Yahoo is also offering Free T-shirt for bloggers who use this Plugin. I doubt if any blogger will take pain of installing this Wordpress Plugin which will result in more visitors getting re-directed to Yahoo services.
In case you really want to install this plugin, then here is the procedure to use this plugin after installation:
1. As you write your blog post, Shortcuts look for Flickr photos, places, companies, products, people and much more.
2. If Yahoo! shortcuts finds relevant content, it will let you know. Just click the Review this post button to see what has been found.
3. Each of the terms for which Shortcuts found content will be underlined. Now you just determine what you want to keep and how you want the Shortcut to be displayed. You remove links selectively or remove them all.

This is surely useful if you are interested in showing relevant images from Flickr. However, there are already so many plugins with similar functionality. In case Yahoo is planning to make this endeavour into its future context link advertisement Network, then this surely makes sense otherwise ??? What say?
