Error 5 on startup for Installshield Manager

If you are upgrading from Windows XP to Windows Vista you might get Error 5 on start up or while accessing Program updates. Strangely, this error is not related to Windows Update but is a result of some third party application software.

However, there is an easy resolution to this issue:
1. Click Pearl, type Run in Instant Search to access Run command window.
2. Type
“C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\ISUSPM.EXE” -bootstrap.
3. Click OK.
4. Restart system.Above steps should take care of this dreaded error.
