5 New Blogger Features to backup, comments & more


Blogger blogging platform is in over drive with loads of new features being rolled out. These features bring blogger a step closer to other blogging platforms like WordPress.

Currently, these features are in Beta. To try out these feature goto http://draft.blogger.com, login using your Google Account and start your test drive. Here is quick run down of few new blogger features:

1. Import / export and backup blogs – Back up all of your posts and comments to one Atom XML file on your computer, and import your posts from one blog to another.

2. Star ratings – Add a 5 star rating control to the bottom of your posts so that your readers can rate them.

3. Embedded comment form –Just like in WordPress, now get the comment form on your blog’s post pages, with support for Google Account and OpenID authentication. No more pop-ups for comments!

4. New post editor – New post editor supports drag-and-drop image placement and better HTML handling. Now you can upload multiple images at the same time.

5. Webmaster Tools integration –Now you can easily check when Googlebot came to your blog to index content. Which keywords are sending loads of traffic to your blog using Google Webmaster Tools.

Besides above, number of other new features are being rolled out like: Google Gadget integration with better editing of gadget preferences, new look Dashboard with new button and sticky “show all blogs button. Blogger for sure is rocking big time. Yes, WordPress is very good for advanced usage. Blogger is the first and only choice for anyone who wants to start blogging, just like I did.
