While we wait for official release of next version of Wordpress Blogging software, here is pleasant twist to Wordpress ramblings. The_dead_one (TDO) has come up with a theme that converts your Wordpress Blog into a forum.
TDO Forum Wordpress Theme is dependent on an external plugin ‘TDO Mini Forms’ for its forum avatar. However, creator is working on integrating those features within the theme framework to reduce dependence on external plugins.
Not just ‘Wordpress Blog’ looks like a forum, it also has basic elements of a forum. Key features of this theme include:
- Unread topics are highlighted and can be used to filter posts list.
- A hierarchical Forum list - included as a page template.
- AJAX Comment Preview and Comment QuickTags (can be turned off).
- Gravatar support for posters and commenter’s comments.
- Pages and Categories can be used as Tabs.
- Posts can be made “sticky†at the top.
- RSS 2.0 Feed of forum posts and theme is FREE for download/use.

With more refinement in this theme - the concept of converting a Wordpress Blog into forum can turn out real big. As pointed by Jeffro this concept is for sure interesting. Game for a Wordpress forum (theme)?

I think that is unnecessarily, Just for creating 2 more tables in mysql, its now worth.
