Facebook has introduced new layout for profile pages, also called timeline. Then new re-designed look has prominent display of profile display image at the top with huge listing of old facebook updates, photos, videos and more. You can easily switch and upgrade to new Facebook profile page layout. However, few users may not like the new look and want to revert back to old Facebook profile page layout. Disable & remove Facebook Timeline [this works!]

New format of Facebook profiles ‘Timeline’ provide detailed information about you and your activities on Facebook. But majority of users just hate Timeline format of displaying basic Facebook profile information. Till now many ways to remove timeline format have emerged, unfortunately majority of them just don’t work. Here are few, that actually works till now!
1. Using Facebook Mobile version instead of default Facebook website. You can use m.facebook.com instead of www.facebook.com to login and browse Facebook. This will open mobile version of Facebook without the timeline profile format. However, few users may not like too simple format of mobile version of Facebook – so you may try method below for turning of timeline profile format on Facebook.
2. Timeline Remove [Not available now – chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dnedfaenfnkikficknkklbdedlecmpgc – more details at timelineRemove.com website] Chrome extension works like charm. It is a Google Chrome extension that show Facebook profiles in older format instead of timeline format. Once you download and install this Chrome extension, restart Google Chrome and re-login into your Facebook account.
From now on, your Facebook profile and that of your Facebook friends should appear in old profile layout (instead of un-wanted ‘Timeline’ format). Timeline Remove is also available for Firefox users, just head over to timelineRemove.com website and download addon for Firefox browser to remove timeline format.
New Changes: Ticker box, nav bar & timeline layout

1. Facebook has added new elements to design interface of Facebook.com website. Now there is moving new updates ticker box displayed at top right part of the website. It is also displayed at the top of chat box, when chat window is opened and not minimized. While few users find is useful, majority find this ticker box big time distraction. Thankfully, there are ways to remove ticker from Facebook using web browser extensions.
2. Another important change is top blue navigation bar. Now this bar sticks to the top of web browser even when you scroll down. Using web browser extension, you can restore original Facebook blue navbar that does not stick to the top of the webpage.
3. Facebook profile pages has undergone radical makeover with introduction of timeline layout feature. Facebook will automatically upgrade all user profiles to new timeline layout by default. New timeline layout is better than older profile layout – so you may not want to switch back, what say?
How to revert back to Old Facebook profile layout

1. Officially, according to Facebook Help center [facebook.com/help/?faq=19409] “You will not be able to switch back to the old design after upgrading”. So, if you do not like the look of new Facebook profile pages – do not attempt to uprade.
2. However, few users have successfully switched back by using a workaround of deactivating Facebook account for 10 minutes. Checkout procedure to deactivate Facebook account, make sure you only deactivate Facebook account and not delete it – be careful!
My theme got changed to new one automatically and I dint like it.
Images are too big and clear to be watched during office times.. :P
Things are mixed up.. Difficult to use… Please FB get me the older theme…otherwise u vl loose ur users…..and it can be the reason for ur downfall :D U can make this newer look optional so that we can switch between new and old looks depending on our mood…;) \m/
So basically the browser tricks only you to make it seem as if your facebook is old but everyone else can see it as a Timeline?
yeah that’s what it does. and that’s another reason i can’t find anything that actually 100% works! Google Chrome is already a pain in the ass, and it only appears to you as the classic facebook. The only thing that works in the chrome extension that he mentioned is “Don’t let people know when you read your messages” thats the only thing that works 100%,,, damn FaceBook is getting messed up.
They changed my facebook profile to timeline without my permission. I always declined the timeline but when I got on today it was changed to that stupid thing. I don’t know why you think it’s a good idea to make so many changes. Why do you think people don’t use myspace anymore? Too many changes! So, please leave Facebook the way it was before because that stupid timeline is freaking retarded!! It’s harder to use since I have been using the old Fb. (which I like better!) THANK U! THANK U! THANK U! I have been waiting for this answer for the past week. I made a mistake and turned my boyfriends fb page into the timeline layout and stayed up for 3 hours straight going crazy trying to get it back right! I followed your instructions and IT WORKED!

New look is disgusting
The app which caused my Facebook to go to revert to the new look was Pin Interest. I deleted that app and am now back to the old view which I feel is much easier to read. Unfortunately, next month (I believe March 2012), no one will have a choice and everyone will have to use the new look. :(

The only way to get your old FB page back is to make a new FB account.. I know it’s not the best way… But then you’re sure you’re not seeing timeline anymore! You can delete your facebook account by searching with ‘facebook account delete’ with Google, and then you can find a site with explanation… I did it before and it works!
This works for the home page when you first reactivate but goes back to the timeline when you click on your page, I waited 3o minutes to reactivate-seems like this does not work anymore. Does anyone have a new back door?
Hated the timeline, so I reverted back to the old Facebook design easily. Now I’m happy :)!!

A big problem have come in the facebook timeline.
whatever we are posting, i mean any of our updates is not visible in our timeline
even we can’t see our own updates in our timeline…

If you have updated to the new timeline yourself, you can just go to the above page and delete the ‘app’
If it has changed automatically, I’m not sure what you could do, but i know deleting this worked for me!

I tried this. But when I went on the site, there are no apps in there. It’s just completely blank
I was able to go back to the old profile layout WITHOUT DEACTIVATING my account. I discovered the technique accidentally. I did try to deactivate but a dialogue box appeared and it said my account cannot be deactivated because I was the only developer of my APP.
This APP was part of the steps when I switched to TIMELINE. I just deleted it and voila, I am now back to the old but easier on the eyes profile layout.
Thanks Elle! I did the same. Ask to deactivate the account on the bottom dialogue box edit the APP and cancel it..that’s it. You don’t have to deactivate the account!

Just sign up for a new FB account using a different email e.g. Yahoo Mail. But, first export FB/old email contacts to email you’re gonna use to sign up for FB. Then you’ll have the old profile and your contacts in one place.

Every since the profile page was changed I have not been able to create an album. It starts to uploan the pictures and the progress bar stops. Anyone else had this problem?

Looks like they’ve rolled the new layout to everyone. When will they learn? Bebo and MySpace pulled this “compulsary new crappy layout” type rubbish and where did they end up? Dead!

I tried this trick and it worked for about 20 minutes, then Facebook changed the layout back to the new one.

I did this. It didn’t work. Well, it did, at first. It went back to the old profile. Then after a while, it reverted back to the new one. Then, I looked back and somehow it had gone back to the old one. Then back to the new one, and back to the old one again. But it mostly stays at the new one. I hate it SO much! I’m going to write hate mail to Facebook.

This works, you probably didn’t wait long enough or had another window open. Its been about an hour, and it hasn’t changed back to the new new version.
The new FB layout does not show the links, the photos and albums that i posted from other peoples pages to my profile. ?
Mime works now. You have to wait for at least 15 min then activate it.
