Facebook is a social networking community website and not a photo sharing website. Still, it hosts more photos than popular photo hosting websites like Flickr and Photobucket.

Facebook now hosts over 10 Billion photos, as announced by Doug on Facebook. This figure is way too high as compared to 6.2 Billion photos on Photobucket and about 2 Billion photos on Flickr.

Here are few interesting photo facts on Facebook:

  • 2-3 Terabytes of photos are being uploaded to the site every day.
  • Over one petabyte of photo storage.
  • Serve over 15 billion photo images per day.
  • Photo traffic now peaks at over 300,000 images served per sec.

Do you use Facebook to interact with friends or share tons of photos? Looks like, Facebook users are playing with loads of photos – what say?
