Turn off picture compression in MS Word

Picture compression is a useful feature to reduce size of images inside MS Word document. The final size of Word document is reduced as a result smaller sized compressed photos. At times, you may want to display highest quality images and not low quality images as a result of picture compression. For this, you can turn off picture compression for photos in specific MS Word file.

Turn off & disable picture compression in Word

1. Open Word document in MS Word 2010 program and goto File tab.

2. Click ‘Options’ under ‘Help and then click ‘Advanced’.

3. Near “Image Size and Quality”, click the picture file for which compression should be turned off. Select “Do not compress images in file” check box to turn off compression for specific picture.
