Show off your followers & Track them in Blogger NOW

Blogger is spilling new features every now and then. In an effort to make Blogger platform more engaging and social here comes new feature ‘following’. This feature is very useful in tracking:

  • Which and how many readers enjoy reading your blog.
  • Stay updated with your favorite blogs from Blogger dashboard.

Blogger Dashboard will display number of followers for each blog. With a click on the Followers icon, you can browse your followers, see what blogs they write and read the other blogs they are following.

Just like Blog Catalog you can show followers in widget form on your blog. (From the “Layout | Page Elements” tab, click “Add a Gadget” and select “Followers” from the gadgets list.)

It will show profile pictures of your followers and gives your readers a “Follow This Blog” link to join.

You can easily stay updated with latest posts from blogs you follow within Blogger Dashboard from “Blogs I’m Following” tab. You can follow any blog from your reading list, even blogs that haven’t added the Followers widget or aren’t hosted on Blogger (that is cool)!

You can also do the same using Google Reader. You will now see a special folder in Reader called “Blogs I’m Following” full of the subscriptions for all of the blogs you follow.

Coming soon is integrating with Google Friend Connect – Blogger is getting more social, way to go!
