Banner ads, pop ups ads, pop in ads, in-text ads - list keeps getting bigger and bigger. Here is another type of advertising format not talked about too much - Strip Ad. It is basically a text ad shown at the top of a webpage. It is NOT a new type of advertising with few big and popular blogs already using it for a while now.

Majority of readers will bookmark the stuff they like, however some of them prefer to print posts or articles straightaway for future reference and reading.
The default print option in browser can lead to broken and uneven priting of elements in the article. For Wordpress users here comes an option to add ‘Print this post’ button to every post/article.
When you click on the print button, post contents are reloaded in very clean format ready for print. Also, the article or post URL and other referenced links are shown at the end of the article for future reference of the websites itself. Here is screenshot of actual and printable page: (more…)

Yahoo and Wordpress? Well, Yahoo has launched a Wordpress plugin for bloggers to show relevant YAHOO! content in blog posts. Relevant keywords will be highlighted and box will pop up on mouse-over resulting into advertisement link to any of the Yahoo Service or content. This wordpress plugin finds Flickr photos, ticker symbols, products, yahoo maps etc in blog posts.

What is the logic? As blogger you do not get anything, it is not paid advertisement program. Yahoo wants its services advertised for FREE !!! Yahoo is also offering Free T-shirt for bloggers who (more…)

You have come across an interesting article or video or image and want to share with your visitors. Since it is only a link or short content, one tends to ‘not to blog’ about it. I am sure many of us are familiar with this situation.

However, now you can set up a miniblog (or sideblog, sidenotes) using asides features in Wordpress 2.3 You can display latest links of this mini blog on the sidebar and these link will not appear in usual sequential blog posts.

Having a consistent Permalink URL is very important. In case you decide to change permalink strcutre of URL, make sure you install a redirector.
This is very important to maintain consistent backlinks and other in coming links. For example you have submitted your post to a social networking site like digg.
The URL is www.URL.com/postname Now, you have decided to change the URL format to www.URL.com/archives/postname
Using this URL redirector plugin all the URLs will be converted itself and correct post pages will appear. It is very easy to install and involves almost no configuration. (more…)
