If you set Yahoo account on ‘I am on SMS’, then your Yahoo messenger friends can send you free SMS.
When you are offline, your friends will see ‘Im on SMS’ next to your ID. They can click on your ID and send message which you will receive on your mobile phone.

Flickr just launched ‘Video on Flickr’ and some Flickr users just didn’t like this idea! Users fear that all the Youtube like crap will come on Flickr and ruin the status of Flickr being quality photo sharing community.

They have launched a Flickr group to protest against feature of ‘Video on Flickr’. Most of them echo fears of Flickr getting into Youtube colors. They have also put up online petition for users to show their support for no videos on flickr.

Finally rumour has turned into reality. There was constant buzz that Flickr photo-sharing website will soon jump into videos. And it has with launch of ’Video on Flickr’ for PRO members.

Yahoo homepage went for a little makeover. Yahoo logo has moved from top-left position to top-center (screaming!) position. So, what hits your eyes when you open yahoo.com?

Besides the ever so familiar YAHOO logo, it’s “in-your-face” Yahoo search bar and search option. Close examination reveal nothing exciting. Besides the logo re-arrangement nothing has changed on Yahoo homepage. Here is how old and new Yahoo homepages look. (more…)

A Few of the good things happening on Flickr, this is how Flickr describe “Flickr for Good’ program. Flickr is giving out Free Flickr PRO accounts to organizations supporting good causes.
Flickr has partnered with TechSoup, a US-based non-profit technology training service, to donate 10,000 1-year Flickr pro accounts for good causes.
Usually a Flickr PRO Account comes with a price tag of $24.95 including features of unlimited storage, unlimited uploads, unlimited bandwidth, stat reporting and ad free browsing.
